Whether you have known the organization as The Art Studio or as The Center for Therapy
through the Arts, you will now see our name consolidated to Art Therapy Studio. The new
name reflects the pioneering work our organization has done in Art Therapy for 40 years.
While some things have changed, the healing process of creating art and the human
connection in art therapy is timeless. And it is just this connection that is depicted visually
with the new logo (shown above). The graphic design suggests people reaching towards
each other, coming together, with a focus and intention.
The Art Therapy Studio is northeastern Ohio's premier provider of customized art therapy
services for special needs populations, art therapy professionals and individuals and groups
seeking unique art therapy programs. We are based in the belief that self-awareness through
art enhances the quality of life.
The Art Therapy Studio is the oldest expressive arts therapy program of its kind in the
country. Since its inception, our programs have been developed around the philosophy that
art making is central to healing and wellness. In the safe, creative space of the studio, a
person is invited, guided and encouraged by the artist/therapist to rediscover him or herself
through the art making process.
